Lost Astronauts is a series of acrylic paintings exploring the contrast between humanity's greatest technological ambitions and the familiar visual language of domestic ornament. Astronauts drift across richly patterned floral backgrounds inspired by traditional textiles, wallpaper and decorative motifs, creating an unexpected dialogue between exploration and home, the unknown and the familiar.
Rather than depicting space itself, the series places its figures in ornamental landscapes where gravity, scale and context dissolve. Suspended between decorative surfaces and infinite space, the astronauts become symbols of curiosity, isolation and quiet wonder. By combining contemporary imagery with patterns rooted in craft traditions, Lost Astronauts blurs the boundary between nostalgia and futurism, inviting viewers to reconsider what it means to be lost—and where we ultimately belong.

Free Fall Through Urbanism

Free Fall Through Urbanism is a group of paintings within the Lost Astronauts series, placing drifting astronauts inside distorted urban courtyards viewed from below. Inspired by the enclosed architecture of historic European apartment blocks, the paintings transform familiar city spaces into weightless environments where perspective bends and gravity disappears. Suspended between windows and open sky, the astronauts navigate an imagined urban cosmos, blurring the boundary between everyday architecture and the infinite.

Free Fall Through Urbanism I – Acrylic painting on 30 × 30 cm canvas depicting a floating astronaut viewed from below inside a circular courtyard of colorful apartment buildings. The dramatic perspective creates the illusion of falling through an endless urban shaft surrounded by repeating windows and façades.

For All the Flies on the Needlepoints

For all the Flies on Needlepoints is a series of acrylic paintings that places one of the most overlooked and disliked insects onto decorative vintage tapestries. By introducing flies into scenes traditionally associated with beauty, innocence and domestic nostalgia, the works create a deliberate visual disruption. Equal parts defiance and humour, the series questions ideas of taste, value and what deserves our attention. The fly becomes an unapologetic intruder—impossible to ignore, quietly mocking our instinct to reject what we find unpleasant.
